CLINTON (WATE) - An Anderson County man pleaded guilty earlier this month to charges related to theft and vandalism at a Tennessee Valley Authority substation.

Jesse Hurst, 29, of New River, pleaded guilty to vandalism, theft, criminal trespassing and destruction or interference with utility lines.

TVA officials say the crimes were committed at the Braytown Substation in December 2011.

Hurst was sentenced in Anderson County Court to serve four years of community service and ordered to pay TVA more than $22,000 in restitution.
