KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Local officials announced Tuesday the expansion of a clothing center that helps needy children in Knox County.

The Knox County PTA Clothing Center provides school-appropriate clothing for underprivileged children.

Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett was on hand for Tuesday's announcement.

The clothing center is currently in the middle of its week-long fall clothing drive.

"It's going to be wonderful with the storage and everything," said staff member Pat Johnson. "If you can see behind me, sometimes we fall over stuff so it means a lot to us." @

The center has served 900 kids since August. It is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

To donate, you can drop clothes off at 1000 North Central Street or call (865) 594-3791.
