HELENWOOD (WATE) - One person was injured and another escaped injury when a Scott County body shop caught fire and exploded Tuesday afternoon.

Huntsville firefighters arrived at 4 p.m. at Reed's Body Shop, 12616 Scott Highway, to find the building engulfed in flames.

The fire started when an employee using a blow torch sparked nearby cleaning agents. Another worker tried to stomp out the flames, but the fire spread.

The flames caused multiple explosions.

The two employees were the only people inside the shop when it caught fire.

The injured worker was transported via Lifestar to a local hospital. The victim's condition is unknown at this time.
