KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Two women were rushed to the hospital Tuesday night after being shot in a Knoxville parking lot during an altercation. A suspect has been arrested.
Investigators say the shooting happened a little before 11 p.m. on East Magnolia Avenue.
The incident started when three people sitting in a car got into an argument with a man in the parking lot.
Officers say the man shot into the car, striking the two women. He then left the scene in a vehicle with several other people.
Stephanie Alberts, 36, of Knoxville, and Nicola Bowers, 34, of Luttrell, were wounded in the shooting.
Officers later found the suspect's vehicle outside a home on Harrison Street. Everyone found inside the house was taken in for questioning.
Arron Mitchell Walker, 26, of Knoxville, was arrested. He has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault and is being held on a $180,000 bond.
The shooting victims were taken to UT Medical Center where they are listed in stable condition. The third person in the car was not hurt.
