MARYVILLE (WATE) - A Sweetwater man was killed Wednesday when his motorcycle crashed on U.S. Highway 129 in Blount County.
The accident happened just before 4:30 p.m. near State Highway 72 in Maryville, not far from the driving area known as "The Dragon".
According to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report, Frederick Wright, 68, was heading north when he lost control of the motorcycle in a curve.
The bike went off the road and into a ditch, then overturned.
THP says Wright was wearing a helmet.
