KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Security alarm company ADT is hiring 300 workers in Knoxville.

First word of the expansion came earlier in October, when ADT spun off from its former parent company TYCO.

On Thursday, the company held a formal expansion ceremony with Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero and Knox County Mayor Tim Burchett in attendance.

At the event, ADT's CEO, called Knoxville one of the company's most productive sites.

Most of the staff hired for these 300 jobs will answer calls from ADT alarm customers.

The company says it offers a broad range of salaries from entry level on up with benefits.

The job openings are posted on ADT's website.
