KNOXVILLE (WATE)-- A longtime Knoxville business is closing its doors after 40 years of serving the community.
The Speciality Shop on Magnolia Avenue first opened in 1970.
Larry Teffeteller, the owner, said he started out as a Remington dealer for shavers.
Over the years, his business evolved to include power tools like lawnmowers and chainsaws.
Teffeteller said he wants to close his shop on his own terms and enjoy retirement.
He told 6 News there are things he'll miss "the people, the customers. I've got some good customers down through the years. They've been real nice."
"I've had some good employees. We've had anywhere from four to eight employees working down here over time," Teffeteller said. "The Specialty Shop has supported all these families."
The store will close its doors for good on Wednesday, October 31.
