KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Scott Meadows is no longer the head football coach at Catholic High School.

Meadows confirmed on Monday that his four year stay with the Irish has come to an end.

"No," was his response to a WATE 6 text message asking if he were still the head coach at Catholic.

No reason was given and officials at Catholic did not return phone calls or text messages.

Meadows has become one of East Tennessee's most mobile high school coaches. Prior to his job at Catholic, he had been head coach at Alcoa, Jefferson County and William Blount.

He lead Alcoa to a state title 2000.

He was hired at Catholic in 2009.

The Irish finished 4-6 and missed the playoffs in each of the past two seasons.
