NASHVILLE (WATE) - It was just country music stars that were honored at Thursday's CMA Awards. A local radio station was also recognized.

Knoxville radio station WIVK 107.7 won Medium Market Station of the Year. It's the country station's ninth CMA win.

Their popular show "Andy and Alison and the Morning Crew" was also nominated for Medium Market Personality of the Year.

They've taken home the award five times in the past.

Andy Ritchie and Alison Mencer said getting a national award is great recognition, but they said they owe it all to their dedicated listeners.

"It has a lot to do with how many folks listen and the history of the radio station has a lot to do with that too. We're thankful to the folks of East Tennessee for making that happen for us," said Ritchie.

And fans had plenty to say about their big win, too.

"Just through Facebook and some of the phone calls we get, people calling and congratulating us and things like that. We've got the best listeners," said Mencer.

Country star Brad Paisley called the pair live on the air Thursday to congratulate them.
