SWEETWATER (WATE) - A woman was killed Thursday afternoon when her car slammed into a dump truck in Monroe County. The truck driver was injured.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the wreck happened around 2 p.m. on Glenlock Road in a rural area of the county near Sweetwater.
Tina M. Revel, of Vonore, 24, was driving her 2001 Saturn westbound when she crested a hill at a curve. As she applied her brakes the car slid across the center lane and hit a dump truck driven by Jordan Gray, 26, of Sweetwater.
THP says Revel was not wearing a seat belt. They have also requested a test for drugs to determine if that was a factor in the wreck.
Gray was issued a citation, but no criminal charges were filed.
