Man dies in wreck on Seymour road


SEYMOUR (WATE) - A Sevierville man died late Thursday when he lost control of his car on South Old Sevierville Pike in Seymour.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol says Charles Lawson, 31, of Sevierville, was killed in the wreck.

The highway patrol's accident report says the wreck happened shortly after 10 p.m. when Lawson was traveling north on South Old Sevierville Pike. As he tried to pass another vehicle he lost control of his 1990 Acura Integra, slid into a brick mailbox and then hit a utility pole.

No one else was involved in the wreck.
