Knox County Schools to host meetings on rezoning proposal

KNOXVILLE (WATE) -  Superintendent Dr. Jim McIntyre will host a series of follow-up public meetings about the draft proposal for elementary school rezoning in Knox County.

Beginning Nov. 13, 2012, Dr. McIntyre will host a series of parent feedback meetings to gather input on the proposed rezoning plan.

The times and locations for those meetings are:

  • Tuesday, Nov. 13 – Cedar Bluff Elementary from 6-8 p.m. (705 North Cedar Bluff Road)
  • Thursday, Nov. 15 – Ball Camp Elementary from 6:30-8 p.m. (9801 Middlebrook Pike)
  • Monday, Nov. 26 – A.L. Lotts Elementary from 6-8 p.m. (9320 Westland Drive)
  • Thursday, Nov. 29 – Farragut Primary from 6-8 p.m. (509 North Campbell Station Road)

The meetings will provide more opportunities for parent and community to comment on the draft rezoning proposal that will result from the construction of the new school in southwest Knox County. 

Two or more Board of Education members may be present at these meetings.

The rezoning will only affect elementary schools located within the southwest sector of Knox County.
