Seymour woman dies in South Knox truck accident

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Seymour woman died in a truck wreck on Saturday afternoon, and one other person was injured.

It happened around 3:30 p.m. on the 7800 block of Sevierville Pike.

The KCSO said Leslie Slingluff, of Seymour, was driving a 2000 Chevy Silverado.

The truck slammed into a tree and flipped onto its top. The passenger, Terry Tomlinson, 54, of Seymour, was killed on impact.

Tomlinson was wearing a seatbelt, but Slingluff was not.

Rural Metro transported Slingluff to UT Medical Center.

Officers said speed and failure to maintain the right of way were factors in the wreck. Charges against Slingluff are pending.
