Arrests made in connection with Campbell County church vandalism

JACKSBORO (WATE) - One man and two juveniles have been arrested in connection with numerous church vandalism incidents in Campbell County.

The Campbell County Sheriff's Office said 19-year-old Walter John Meachum is one of the people suspected in several of the crimes.

Meachum is charged with vandalism and theft over $1,000 and desecration of venerated objects, among other charges.

Deputies said at least eight churches and two homes were targeted.

Investigations are also underway in neighboring counties for similar types of vandalisms.
