KNOXVILLE (WATE) – A local teen starts her second round of chemotherapy for Hodgkin's Lymphoma Tuesday.

Anna Hamilton, a senior at Grace Christian Academy, was diagnosed in September.

Helping her has become a major cause on campus.

"Obviously you're devastated," said Randy Hamilton, Anna's father. "You don't know what to do, or what's in store when your child has cancer."

As Anna's family figured out a treatment plan, her school family got right to work. First making a special video to let her know she was loved and was not alone. Several prayer services have been organized for her as well.

One of her teachers walked through the night, nearly 19 hours, along with some students to raise money for medical bills. Over the weekend,a football game was organized to benefit the same cause.

"We're looking for ways to help Anna and her family through the whole thing," said Morgan Cleveland, with a campus group called "Advocates for Anna."

They're selling bracelets and T-shirts that say "#Pray4Anna."

"It's amazing the amount of support we've felt from GCA," Randy Hamilton said.

For students, it has been a lesson on how much can be learned from giving.

"It's shown me the love of God and the love He spreads through other believers," Cleveland said. "There's been people who give me money to give her. People who have never met her before."

The Hamilton family has health insurance. Anna's mother will be taking time off to care for her.

"She has taken a leave of absence from work. That's caused financial stress, just the not knowing," Randy Hamilton said.

If you'd like to buy a bracelet or T-shirt to help the Hamiltons, contact Grace Christian Academy. Anna will have at least one more round of chemo therapy after the one this week.
