KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A Knox County family's home was seriously damaged by fire Monday night.

Firefighters said the flames broke out a little after 11 p.m. at the house on Stone Hollow Drive. The home was already fully involved when crews arrived.

The family told officials that their smoke detectors went off and woke them up.

It's unknown exactly how many people were inside at the time, but officials said they all made it out safely.

Crews said the fire most likely sparked in the attic area. The cause is under investigation.
