Local winners:

Tennessee State House District 13: Democrat Gloria Johnson over Republican Gary Loe and Independent Nick Cazana.

Loe lost despite an endorsement from Gov. Bill Haslam and a dominant showing by Republicans across the state.

Johnson acknowledged that she would be in the minority as a Democrat in the Tennessee House.

"I understand that. But I really believe we all want the same things. We all want the best for our children, we want the best education, we all want good jobs with good wages," Johnson said Tuesday night. "I think it's time we sit down and talk about how we get there, both sides of the aisle. We really have got to do some work to move Tennessee forward, and we got to talk about what's going to work."

Other area winners:

Tennessee State House District 14 - Republican Ryan Haynes over Democrat Jerome Miller.

Tennessee State House District 15 - Democrat Joe Armstrong over Green Party candidate Calvin Cassady.
