SEVIERVILLE (WATE) - The man accused of crashing his car into a church van and killing two people inside was formally charged in the incident Wednesday.
A Sevier County grand jury indicted Tyler Schaeffer on several charges including vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and DUI.
Troopers said they also found narcotics on Schaeffer at the time of the crash.
Youth pastor Jeff Trussell and 16-year-old Courteney Kaliszewski were killed when troopers said their van from Cedar Grove Baptist Church was hit head on by Schaeffer.
Schaeffer is being held in the Sevier County Jail on a $2 million bond.
His court date is scheduled for December.
