KNOXVILLE (WATE) - An accused serial rapist who deputies said attempted to rape two females was taken into custody Thursday.

Michael Reagan, 38, of Thorngrove Pike, picked up a woman in Knoxville just after 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday for the purpose of paying for sexual acts, according to a Knox County Sheriff's Office investigation.

Reagan then drove to Archie Weigel Road in East Knox County where he held her at gunpoint and demanded sex.

The woman escaped from Reagan and a nearby homeowner called 911.

Then shortly before 2:00 a.m. Thursday morning, Reagan offered to give another woman a ride to her home.

Deputies say he instead drove to a gravel drive on River Landing Way in East Knox County and threatened her with a knife while attempting to rape her.

When she escaped his vehicle, he attempted to run over her. She ran into a nearby wooded area and called police.

The Knoxville Police Department was given Reagan's vehicle description and an officer found him Thursday morning on Central Street at Scott Avenue in North Knoxville.

Both victims identified Reagan as the suspect.

Reagan is being held in the Knox County Sheriff's Office on a $1 million bond.

He is charged with aggravated rape and attempted aggravated rape.

Reagan has a criminal history in Knoxville including assault, simple possession, theft, vandalism, and domestic assault.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crimes. They also believe there are more victims in the case.
