CORRYTON (WATE) - A hiker dies on House Mountain Saturday afternoon.
Knox County Sheriff's Office said a man hiking with four friends collapsed, and one of the friends called 911 around 1:30p.m.
At first, emergency responders were unable to find the five hikers because of bad cell service.
KCSO said their helicopter assisted in locating the hikers and helped direct the Knox County Rescue Squad, Rural Metro, and KCSO Officers to the scene.
Officials said the friends conducted CPR on the man until rescue crews arrived, but it was too late.
The body was taken to the Knox County Medical Examiner's Office.
His name is not being released until his family is notified.
KCSO said there were no signs of foul play.
