SEYMOUR (WATE) - Three boys were injured after a head-on ATV collision Sunday afternoon.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office said they responded to an ATV wreck just before 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at 7705 Sevierville Pike.

KCSO deputies said a 17-year-old boy and 6-year-old boy were riding one all-terrain vehicle when they struck another ATV driven by a 12-year-old boy.

The 17-year-old was transported via Lifestar to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, while Rural Metro transported the other two boys to the University of Tennessee Hospital.

Deputies said the 17-year-old received the worst of the injuries, but was also the only one wearing a helmet.

A neighbor, who is also a nurse, heard the accident and tended to the boys until emergency personnel arrived.

The field where the accident occurred belongs to the family of the 17-year-old.
