LOUISVILLE (WATE) - Two teens were charged with theft and burglary Monday night after escaping a residential treatment center in Blount County.
Deputies said both girls, ages 15 and 17, were taken into custody a few hours after breaking out of Acadia Village Residential Center on Jones Bend Road around 8:30.
Officials said the girls pulled the fire alarm there to escape.
Both have been charged with aggravated burglary and vehicle theft. Deputies said the two broke into a home near the center and stole cash and the homeowner's car keys.
They were caught by the homeowner trying to take the car and then ran to another home. That homeowner called authorities and both girls were found and arrested a little before midnight.
They're being held at the Blount County Juvenile Detention Facility.
