BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (WATE) - A Barbourville, Ky. man was found dead early Tuesday morning, and his caregiver has been charged in the case.
The victim was found around 12:26 a.m. Tuesday on J. Goodin Branch Road with multiple gunshot wounds. His body was sent to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
Kentucky State Police identified the victim as Earl Carter, 75, of Barbourville.
Charlene Sue King, 49, of the Fourmile community, was arrested and taken to the Knox County Detention Center. She has been charged with murder.
Officers say King was the victim's caregiver and lived in his home for months.
