KNOXVILLE (WATE) - The man shot by police outside West Town Mall has been released from the hospital.

Abraham Dudley, 30, was shot by Officer Christopher Edmunds in the parking lot of the mall on Nov. 1.

According to police, witnesses said at the time that Dudley was attacking his girlfriend and trying to push her into a car.

Police also said that Dudley indicated he had a weapon and was going to shoot.

Officer Edmunds fired once, hitting Dudley in the lower torso.

So far, charges have not been filed against Dudley.

Officer Edmunds was placed on paid leave, which is standard practice for officers involved in a shooting.
