Vols drop UNC-Asheville in Puerto Rico opener


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Tennessee's basketball team opened their three-game stay in Puerto Rico with a 75-68 win over UNC-Asheville on Thursday afternoon.

The Vols were led by Jarnell Stokes who had 14 points and 11 rebounds. Kenny Hall and Trea Golden also scored 14 points each.

Jordan McRae and Josh Richardson also scored 12 points each for Tennessee.

The Vols led the Bulldogs by 10 points at the half, and extended that lead to 17 points in the 2nd half.

Jeremy Atkinson had 18 points and nine rebounds for UNCA.

The Vols advance to play Oklahoma State on Friday morning at 10:30 AM (ET).

Tennessee is now 2-0 on the season.
