KNOXVILLE (WATE) – More than a thousand people attended a Bigfoot Day celebration Friday evening.

With the cast and crew of the show "Finding Bigfoot" in town to shoot an episode, Knox County Mayor declared Friday as Bigfoot Day.

The crew says they are looking to hear from people who have had encounters with Bigfoot.

"We have to gather as much information as we can in our search. We need to talk to as many people as possible, plot it on a map, where the squatch's were seen, and what times of the year," said "Bobo", one of the cast members.

The episode featuring our area will air this Spring. The show's crew will be staying in our area and shooting all weekend.
