KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A UT student is being charged for filing a false police report, which is a Class D Felony.
The student originally told the UT Police Department someone attempted to rob him outside Massey Hall on Saturday morning.
He later advised police the incident did not occur.
Police said they take false reports very seriously and will prosecute anyone who does this.
