KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Former University of Tennessee linebacker Nick Reveiz has seen the highs and lows of Tennessee football. He played under Phillip Fulmer and Lane Kiffin, and then for his senior season in 2010 he played under Derek Dooley.

Reveiz had good things to say about Dooley, who was fired Sunday, one game short of three seasons at Tennessee.

"I had a great experience with Coach Dooley. He could have written me off as a former walk-on, but he gave me a lot of respect and really treated me well," Reveiz said. "This is a really hard thing. This is hard for the Tennessee family. It's hard for Coach Dooley and his family. It's one of those things where you hate to see it."

Having seen two other coaches make sudden departures from the Vols, Reveiz knows how this year's players are feeling and what they will feel going into their final game of 2012.

"Saturday needs to be a time that a lot of people need to come out and they need to support the seniors. This is not easy for players. It's just a sad time for Tennessee, it's sad for the Dooleys, it's sad for everyone," Reveiz said.
