Vols defeat UMass in Puerto Rico


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Jarnell Stokes lead the way with 24 points and 11 rebounds as Tennessee beat UMass 83-69 in the consolation game at the Puerto Rico Tip-Off on Sunday.

Stokes led the way in a 17-2 Tennessee scoring run as the Vols took control of the game in the second half.

Tennessee dominated on the boards, out rebounding UMass 51-37.

Stokes point total was a career high.

Four other Vols scored in double-figures as Tennessee improved to 3-1 on the season.

Jordan McRae had 12 points while Josh Richardson, Trae Golden and Skylar McBee each scored 11.

The Vols are off until Monday, Nov. 26 when they host Oakland at Thompson-Boling Arena.
