SEVIERVILLE (WATE) - Shoppers were already out searching for sales on the day before Thanksgiving.
The Tanger Outlet Stores in Sevierville will be open on
Thanksgiving night and on Wednesday the employees are preparing for the
rush.
Wendy Davis and her son, Josh, spent the day before Thanksgiving shopping at the outlets.
"We've been
shopping about two hours and found a lot of deals," said Wendy
Davis.
At American Eagle they bought blue jeans and sweatshirts.
Wendy said they'll spend the same amount of money this
Christmas as last.
But American Eagle Sales Associate Gary Brewer expects
more shoppers this Black Friday than in the past.
"It's going to be a good Black Friday for everyone. Good deals
going on. Everyone is about saving and a deal and we've got them 40 percent off,"
said Brewer.
For the second year in a row, all the Tanger Outlet Stores
open at 10:00 p.m. on
Thanksgiving. The stores will remain open unit 10:00 p.m. on
black Friday.
The manager of the Tanger Outlet Center in
Sevierville said opening earlier brings in more shoppers.
To
cope with the crowd at American Eagle, all of the store's 100 employees will be working
at some time on Black Friday.
Brewer will be working late to prepare
for the 24 hour rush.
"I'll be here until way into the night, closing, getting everything
ready, straightening everything, because it's going to be pretty much a wreck when
everyone comes through," said Brewer.
While Wendy Davis found some good deals Wednesday, she plans on
hitting the stores again on Black Friday.
"I'm fine. I love
it. I love the crowds. Now my husband, he doesn't love the crowds," said
Davis.
