Interstate 75 shut down in southern Ky. for wreck

WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (WATE/AP) - Traffic on Interstate 75 in southern Kentucky was shut down for several hours in both directions Wednesday night due to a wreck.

The crash happened between mile markers 4 and 6 in Whitley County.

According to Kentucky State Police troopers, a van headed south on I-75 swerved to miss a vehicle and over corrected.

The van rolled into the median and all five people inside were ejected.

The unoccupied van then continued into the northbound lane and hit a semi truck.

The semi truck driver was not seriously injured.

Four people in the van were airlifted to a hospital. A fifth person was taken by ambulance to Baptist Regional in Corbin, Ky. Authorities have not provided information about their identity and condition.
