TELLICO PLAINS (WATE) - A Monroe County woman was found shot to death early Friday morning, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
Responders arrived to a home at 325 Towee Falls Road in Tellico Plains just before 10 a.m. Friday.
They found a 38-year-old female victim dead from apparent gun shot wounds. Officials said evidence suggests the death may be linked to drug-related activity.
Officers will not release the name of the victim until family is notified.
No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing.
