Burglary suspect caught after foot chase with deputies

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - A burglary suspect led deputies on a foot chase through a West Knoxville subdivision on Tuesday afternoon.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office said they received a call around 12:30 about a possible burglary on Wellington West Drive in West Knox County.

The suspect then led officers on a foot chase for three quarters of a mile before he was caught in a subdivision off of Bob Gray Road and Bob Kirby Road.

The suspect, Elijah Crosswhite, 18, was arrested. During the arrest, deputies found two backpacks in his possession that had items inside that may have been stolen.

The sheriff's office said Crosswhite was also wanted in another burglary case.
