Seymour firefighter's home damaged in fire


SEYMOUR (WATE) - Firefighters rushed to the scene of a fire at the Seymour home of one of their own early Friday morning.

The fire broke out in the attic of a home at 1154 Cedar Springs Valley Road just before 2 a.m. The home belongs to a firefighter with the Seymour Volunteer Fire Department.

Crews had to burst through the ceiling to get to the fire, but they quickly put out the flames.

The fireman's wife and children were home at the time, but got out safely.

Damage was contained to the attic of the home.
