KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Sen. Lamar Alexander is holding a press conference today in Knoxville to announce he is seeking re-election and beginning his campaign.
He announced that Congressman John J. Duncan, Jr., will chair the 2014 campaign.
Alexander's campaign honorary co-chairs will be Gov. Bill Haslam, Sen. Bob Corker, Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey, House Speaker Beth Harwell, Congressmen Marsha Blackburn, Phil Roe, Diane Black, Stephen Fincher and Chuck Fleischmann.
Alexander is seeking his third six-year term in the United States Senate.
The press conference will be at 2 p.m. at TAC Air.
