KNOXVILLE (WATE) - One man died Sunday afternoon in a one-vehicle car crash, according to the Knoxville Police Department.
It happened at 1:03 p.m. on the 3200 block of Brooks Avenue.
The driver was traveling east on Brooks Avenue when he lost control of his Nissan Sentra.
The car left the roadway and struck a utility pole, which snapped in half.
The passenger was transported to UT Medical Center where he died soon after.
Although the driver sustained minor injuries and was not treated, he was taken to UT Medical Center for a mandatory blood draw.
Police have not released any names yet. The investigation is ongoing.
