ALCOA (WATE) - A water main break in Alcoa left 150 customers without water and closed several roads Tuesday.

The rupture of the 10-inch water main took place near the junction of Duncan Station Road and Upton Street.

Some homes on those two roads as well as Center Street and Cherry Street lost water service.

Center Street temporarily closed while crews removed and replaced the cast iron pipe.

It is not known yet why the pipe ruptured.
