CLINTON (AP) - Anderson County sheriff's officials are looking into how a bailiff and county commissioner lost his service pistol on the way to work.
A driver saw the gun and turned it over to the Oak Ridge Police Department.
Officials said John Shuey apparently put the .40-caliber Glock pistol on top of his vehicle as he was preparing to leave for work late last week and drove away with it on the roof.
Anderson County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Mark Lucas said Shuey reported the missing gun as soon as he noticed it was gone.
Lucas said the department is doing a review to determine if discipline is warranted.
