WARTBURG (WATE) - A Morgan County man is accused of shooting his adult son during a domestic dispute last weekend.

Chief Deputy Steve Cochran says the shooting happened Saturday night at about 7:30 p.m.

The incident happened on Lee Road in Wartburg, where both men live.

The father, James Williams, 65, shot his son, James Williams, age 41.

According to Cochran, the pair has a history of domestic problems. He believes an argument led to the shooting.

The older Williams used a 9-millimeter handgun and shot his son one time in the chest.

No charges have been filed yet as deputies are awaiting the results of an autopsy.
