Victims ID'd in deadly Alcoa Highway crash


ALCOA (WATE) - Alcoa police have identified the people involved in a deadly crash that happened Thursday on Alcoa Highway.

Joseph J. Limerick, 69, of Sevierville, was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of the road to enter a Days Inn, when he was struck by a car driven by 33-year-old Christy B. Martin of Lenoir City.

Limerick failed to yield the right of way to Martin.

His passenger, Clara Limerick, 71, also of Sevierville was killed instantly in the crash.

Joseph Limerick was taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center in critical condition.
