NIOTA (WATE) - Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers say a driver was not paying attention behind the wheel Tuesday and that led to her death in a wreck on Interstate 75 in McMinn County.
Troopers say Randi Taylor Vaughn, 21, was driving northbound near mile marker 59 when she became distracted by one of the passengers in the back seat.
Troopers say Vaughn lost control of her vehicle, struck several trees, and overturned.
Vaughn, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was killed.
Two others inside the car were hurt.
Drugs or alcohol aren't believed to be a factor in the crash.
McMinn County investigators are trying to figure out how a woman was shot while driving her car Monday morning. It happened on County Road 139 just before 9 am. That's when a bullet flew
