Former Vol OC Chaney hired by Arkansas

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Former Tennessee offensive coordinator Jim Chaney has been hired by Arkansas to fill the same role under new head coach Bret Bielema.

"Jim Chaney's approach will blend well with my ideas as we work to put together a plan for the team we have and over time develop our specific philosophy," said Bielema.

"He knows the SEC, having coached at Tennessee, and is familiar with what it takes to be successful in this conference. He is an upbeat and positive person who has proven at every stop he is an elite coach in our profession."

Chaney was hired by Lane Kiffin and coached at Tennessee for four seasons.

He was named interim head coach when Derek Dooley was fired on Nov. 18.

Chaney coached the Vols to a win over Kentucky in the team's season finale.
