KNOXVILLE (WATE) - An employee's hair, customer restrooms and cold spinach caused low health inspection scores at local restaurants this week.
No one failed during this week of inspections, but a couple came close.
Lowest score:
Puleo's Grille on Morrell Road - Grade: 70
That's just barely passing.
Inspectors report the spinach queso and sausage were not being stored at a safe temperature.
There were dirty rags on the counter, and employees were spotted going outside and then coming back to work without washing their hands and changing gloves.
Other low scores:
Kentucky Fried Chicken, 7228 Maynardville Highway - Grade: 71
There, the inspector says an employee didn't wash his or her hands after handling dirty dishes.
A container at the breading station was not properly washed or sanitized.
And at the time of the visit, the women's bathroom was not functional and the men's bathroom was being repaired.
Los Lagos, Cherry Street - Grade: 72
There, a cook had painted fingernails and constantly brushed hair from her face while preparing food and never washed her hands.
Ice scoops were stored on the floor and raw chicken and beef in a display case weren't cold enough.

- Cities Cupcake Boutique, 5201 Kingston Pike - Grade: 100
- Elavon 7301, 7301 Chapman Highway - Grade: 100
