KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Hundreds of bicyclists in costumes hit the streets of Knoxville, all in the name of holiday fun.

The families took part in the annual Tour de Lights Thursday night.

The cyclists started in Market Square, rode through Gay Street, the historic Fourth and Gill neighborhood and ended in Old North Knoxville.

Those who participated said it was a blast to tour the town in a unique way.

"I've told a bunch of my friends about it over the past two weeks. It's one of the neat events in Knoxville, like Rossini Festival is neat," said Larry Johnson. "Where else can you ride up right up Gay Street, right up the street in the middle of the night? I think it's great."

This is the third year for the event.
