Knox County Codes unveils new app

KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Knox County Codes Department enforcers now have a new tool at their disposal.

Rather than carrying a bulky laptop, digital camera and notepad, Knox County Codes officials now go to inspection sites with an iPad loaded with a special app developed by Knox County's Information Technology Department.

The app links to county maps so workers can visualize the location of their calls. It also allows them to upload data and photos from the field during their inspections.

The new system will allow members of the community to view their inspection results online and see what violations they were cited for.

The new app will be used by buildings and zoning inspectors.

The latest inspection results are available on the Knox County Codes website.
