Thousands of bank customers lose debit card, online banking access

OAK RIDGE (WATE) - Thousands of bank customers couldn't use their debit cards or access money in their accounts Monday after a system shutdown at a local bank.

ORNL Federal Credit Union workers told 6 News the computers and phones at all of their branches stopped functioning around 10 a.m.

Customers could not use their debit cards, call customer service, or access online banking during the outage.

Bank workers said the outage was caused by a blown transformer.

All services were back online by the close of business Monday.
