Two Knox County school buses involved in accidents


KNOXVILLE (WATE) - Two separate accidents involving Knox County Schools buses took place Thursday morning in Knoxville.

In Northwest Knox County, Bus 149 was heading for Karns Elementary School when the driver slammed on the brakes and the bus slid into a ditch.

About 60 children were on board the bus, but luckily none were injured.

An alternate bus called to transport the children to school.

In North Knox County. Bus 946 was transporting approximately 10 students when it clipped the back of Bus 131, which had about 30 students on board.

The incident took place on the Powell High School campus.  No injuries were reported.

No information has been released about the cause of the crashes or whether weather was a factor.
