ONEIDA (WATE) - The company chosen to reopen Scott County's hospital will have to wait a little longer to start taking patients.
SM Promen was scheduled to close on the property Friday, but Scott County Mayor Jeff Tibbals says the new target date is December 31.
Mayor Tibbals says the delay is due to some paperwork required by the state attorney general.
County commissioners approved an agreement with the company in October with SM Promen, also known as Ameris Health Systems.
The agreement requires that the building be used as a hospital for six years.
The hospital in Oneida has been closed since May.
