KNOXVILLE (WATE) - NASCAR's Trevor Bayne is stepping out of the fast lane and settling down.
The Knoxville area native and 2011 Daytona 500 champion has announced his engagement on Twitter.
"Well Ladies and Gentlemen, she said yes," Bayne tweeted.
The message was accompanied with a photo of Bayne and his fiance, Ashton Clapp, at a ski slope.
Bayne's father confirmed the engagement via text message to WATE 6 Sports on Saturday.
Rocky Bayne said Clapp is also from the Knoxville area and said no wedding date has been set.
Bayne won the 2011 Daytona 500 driving for the legendary Wood Brothers Racing team. He has run the NASCAR Nationwide Series for Roush-Racing and will compete for the series title next year.
