SEVIERVILLE (WATE) - Sevier County deputies have released the identity of two bodies found Saturday.
The bodies of Shannon Whaley, 52, and William B. Davis, 51, were found inside a residence on New Era Road. Davis is the son-in-law of Whaley.
Whaley was found inside the home and Davis was found in camper in the rear of the property.
According to deputies, Davis is believed to have killed Whaley before returning to the camper and committing suicide.
A Sevier County Sheriff's Office investigation has revealed that there was an ongoing dispute between the Whaley and Davis.
Evidence found inside the camper indicated that Davis was the perpetrator in the murder of Whaley and he then took his own life, once the body was found by family members on Saturday morning.
The investigation is continuing and investigators are awaiting the results of the autopsy that are being performed at the University of Tennessee Forensic Center in Knoxville.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is also assisting in the investigation.
